Agri Olive Shodoshima
Agri Olive Shodoshima carries out the entire process of olive cultivation, oil extraction, and bottling on Shodoshima Island.
A key feature of our work is the practice of sustainable circular agriculture, in which by-products from oil extraction are effectively reused.
For example, olive juice water and pruned branches are fermented to produce “olive compost,” while olive pulp and pomace left after oil extraction are dried and used as “olive feed” for livestock. The manure from these animals is then combined with olive compost and returned to the olive groves, creating a natural cycle of agriculture.
These initiatives directly contribute to the SDGs, particularly Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and Goal 15: Life on Land. By reducing environmental impact while promoting sustainable agriculture, we continue to nurture olives in harmony with nature, beginning each cycle anew with the autumn harvest.
