Kasugado Shodoshima-born Stone Chocolate
- What is the souvenir calculator?
- The souvenir calculator is a tool that calculates the total price of souvenirs. As you choose souvenirs, the total price is automatically calculated. Since you know the total price of souvenirs, you can choose souvenirs within your budget.
It looks just like a stone, but once you take a bite, the deep aroma of black sesame and the rich nuttiness of roasted almonds spread through your mouth. This chocolate is inspired by the “Shodoshima Stone (granite)” that was even used in the stone walls of Osaka Castle—a souvenir unique to Shodoshima.
Shodoshima was formed about 14 million years ago through volcanic activity and is known as the “Island of Stone.” Its durable granite has long been used across Japan for castle walls, bridges, paving stones, and more.
Stone Chocolate was created through the collaboration of university students, local revitalization members, local companies, and artists, with the hope of sharing the island’s fascinating history in a fun way.
It’s a unique chocolate that lets you enjoy the charm of Shodoshima in both appearance and taste.
