With over 100 years of tradition, our family has been crafting somen noodles together on Shodoshima for generations.
Bachimen are the edge trimmings that result during somen production. Their name comes from their resemblance to the “bachi” (plectrum) used to play the shamisen. They have long been a local favorite.

Masago-Kinosuke So-men production
Masago-Kinosuke So-men noodle production was established in 1920. It used to be a farming family but the founder, Genzo, started to produce the So-men during the agricultural off season in winter. His son, Kinosuke, changed to So-men production as their principal business. The current head is Kinosuke's son, Hiroaki, and his son, Atsushi. We aim to provide high quality noodles and maintain high customer service.
