This special pen is crafted from carefully pruned olive wood grown on Shodoshima, and finished into the grip of the globally acclaimed JETSTREAM multi-function pen—creating a truly one-of-a-kind writing instrument.

Olive trees first arrived on Shodoshima in 1908, when Japan’s former Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce began trial cultivation in three prefectures: Mie, Kagoshima, and Kagawa.
While olive cultivation was eventually abandoned in other regions, the trees planted on Shodoshima thrived. By the early Taishō era, they had matured enough for olive oil production.

Today, Shodoshima continues its commitment to sustainable community development centered around olives, with the goal of preserving its beautiful olive-filled landscapes for the next 100 years and beyond.

The olive flower symbolizes peace, wisdom, victory, and prosperity.

Carrying these meanings, the Shodoshima Olive Ballpoint Pen is designed to put your thoughts into words. It is ideal not only for everyday use, but also as a commemorative item, a thoughtful gift, or a celebration of new beginnings.

This pen has also been selected as a hometown tax return gift (Furusato Nozei) for Shodoshima Town in Kagawa Prefecture, and is available in limited quantities at locations such as Shodoshima Olive Park Roadside Station and the Kagawa Prefectural Products Hall.
