Shodoshima is home to bountiful nature, art, and stories of culture and industry dating back hundreds of years.
What we want to share is
not a “product” but a “story".
Here at this facility, we aim to connect customers who visited Shodoshima and those who received Shodoshima souvenirs with the local artisans and businesses through our Stories of Shodoshima.
The Story of Olives
Olives first made their way to Shodoshima in 1908.
With its low rainfall and mild climate similar to the Mediterranean Sea, it is said to be a perfect location for growing olive plants.
Today, Shodoshima is proud to be the largest olive producing region in the country.
The Story of Soy Sauce and Tsukudani
Shodoshima is one of the top four soy sauce producing areas in Japan.
Breweries still use traditional methods handed down from long ago.
The local tsukudani specialty takes advantage of the high-quality soy sauce produced here.
The Story of Somen Noodles
